NSSGA Announces President & CEO Departure, Interim CEO Appointed

ALEXANDRIA, VA – National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) Board Chair Jim Nickolas issued the following statement today announcing Michael Johnson's departure as NSSGA’s president and CEO. 
 
“Mike Johnson has been a valued leader of this association for the past 11 years. He will be leaving NSSGA, as of October 11 and on behalf of NSSGA’s leadership and its members, we wish him much success in his next chapter.
 

NSSGA Applauds Congressional Aggregates Caucus Launch

ALEXANDRIA, VA – The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) President and CEO Michael Johnson issued the following statement commending Rep. Nick Langworthy (R-NY-23) and Rep. Salud Carbajal (D-CA-24) for leading the creation of the bipartisan Congressional Aggregates Caucus. The Caucus serves as an informal, bipartisan group of House members that will provide an educational forum on industry challenges and policies affecting aggregates producers.

NSSGA Receives EPA Grant to Advance Aggregates Sustainability

ALEXANDRIA, VA – The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) is proud to announce it has been awarded a five-year, $9.65 million grant by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). With the EPA grant funding and support, NSSGA aims to provide the aggregates industry with essential resources to: robustly produce and release Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs); establish guidelines on best management practices for reducing CO2 emissions; and enhance the industry’s capacity to sequester CO2.

NSSGA Finishes Successful 2024 Young Leaders Meeting

SAN ANTONIO, TX – The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) convened its 2024 Annual Young Leaders Meeting in San Antonio, TX. The meeting, held April 28 – May 1, attracted 338 participants from across the country. This is the aggregates industry’s premier opportunity for professionals under the age of 40 to learn more about the industry, build leadership skills and grow a strong network.

Jim Nickolas Named New NSSGA Board Chair

NASHVILLE – Jim Nickolas, executive vice president and chief financial officer of Martin Marietta, will be the next chair of the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA). Outgoing Chair Seth Hankowski, All States Materials Group, handed off the gavel during a ceremony at the 2024 NSSGA Annual Convention. A video introducing Nickolas and showcasing the aggregates industry’s critical impact was also featured.

 

Manufacturing & Services Division Chair Passes the Gavel - 2023 M&S Chair Charlie Johnson Presents Gavel to Mark Krause During M&S Dinner

NASHVILLE – On the opening night of the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) 2024 Annual Convention, the Manufacturing & Services (M&S) Division announced their 2024 Executive Committee Chair at their annual dinner. Outgoing Chair Charlie Johnson of DSC Dredge LLC handed off the gavel to Mark Krause of McLanahan Corporation. Tom Suess of Komatsu was named Vice Chair. 

 

Michele Stanley of the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association Graduates from Institute for Organization Management, a Leadership Training Program Produced by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Institute for Organization Management, the professional development program of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, is pleased to announce that Michele Stanley, IOM, Executive Vice President & Chief Advocacy Officer, of the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association, has graduated from the program and has received the recognition of IOM. Awarded to all graduates of the Institute program, the IOM Graduate Recognition signifies the individual’s completion of 96 credit hours of course instruction in non-profit management.
