NSSGA Announces Safety Award Recipients

WASHINGTON – The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) announced the winners of the Safety Excellence Awards, the Louis Griesemer Sterling Safety Awards and the James M. Christie Safety and Health Professional of the Year Award during a lunch session of the 2024 Legislative & Policy Forum. 

 

NSSGA Honors Rep. Carbajal (CA) with ROCK Star Award

WASHINGTON – The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) announced Rep. Salud Carbajal (CA) as a ROCK Star Award winner at the annual NSSGA Legislative & Policy Forum. He was honored with the award in recognition of his work championing aggregates industry policy issues on Capitol Hill and with federal agencies. 

 

NSSGA Honors Rep. Langworthy (NY) with ROCK Star Award

WASHINGTON – The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) announced Rep. Nick Langworthy (NY) as the ROCK Star Award winner at the annual NSSGA Legislative & Policy Forum. He was honored with the award in recognition of his work championing aggregates policy issues. He notably led on key aggregates report language within the Farm Bill and is the Republican lead on the Aggregates Caucus. 

 

NSSGA Celebrates 2024 Environmental Awards

WASHINGTON –  The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) has announced the recipients of its Environmental Excellence Awards and the winner of the 2024 Environmental Leadership Award. The Excellence Awards recognize operations that demonstrate a commitment to the exemplary use of environmental controls and systems. NSSGA recognized 9 Gold, 10 Silver and 99 Bronze environmental winners during the first general session of the Legislative & Policy Forum. 

 

NSSGA Kicks Off Legislative & Policy Forum in Washington, D.C.

The 2024 Legislative & Policy Forum is being held Sept. 24-27 at the Capitol Hill Hyatt.

 

WASHINGTON – The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) opens its annual Legislative & Policy Forum (LPF) today. Over the next four days, more than 375 attendees will convene in Washington, D.C. to share the story of the aggregates industry with lawmakers. 

 

NSSGA Announces President & CEO Departure, Interim CEO Appointed

ALEXANDRIA, VA – National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) Board Chair Jim Nickolas issued the following statement today announcing Michael Johnson's departure as NSSGA’s president and CEO. 
 
“Mike Johnson has been a valued leader of this association for the past 11 years. He will be leaving NSSGA, as of October 11 and on behalf of NSSGA’s leadership and its members, we wish him much success in his next chapter.
 

NSSGA Applauds Congressional Aggregates Caucus Launch

ALEXANDRIA, VA – The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) President and CEO Michael Johnson issued the following statement commending Rep. Nick Langworthy (R-NY-23) and Rep. Salud Carbajal (D-CA-24) for leading the creation of the bipartisan Congressional Aggregates Caucus. The Caucus serves as an informal, bipartisan group of House members that will provide an educational forum on industry challenges and policies affecting aggregates producers.

NSSGA Receives EPA Grant to Advance Aggregates Sustainability

ALEXANDRIA, VA – The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) is proud to announce it has been awarded a five-year, $9.65 million grant by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). With the EPA grant funding and support, NSSGA aims to provide the aggregates industry with essential resources to: robustly produce and release Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs); establish guidelines on best management practices for reducing CO2 emissions; and enhance the industry’s capacity to sequester CO2.

NSSGA Finishes Successful 2024 Young Leaders Meeting

SAN ANTONIO, TX – The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) convened its 2024 Annual Young Leaders Meeting in San Antonio, TX. The meeting, held April 28 – May 1, attracted 338 participants from across the country. This is the aggregates industry’s premier opportunity for professionals under the age of 40 to learn more about the industry, build leadership skills and grow a strong network.
