Letter to Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources Supporting Steve Pearce to be the Director of the Bureau of Land Management
On behalf of the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA), I write to express our strong support for the nomination of Mr. Steve Pearce to serve as Director of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). Mr. Pearce brings significant experience in federal policymaking and a deep understanding of the role public lands play in supporting economic growth. During his service in the U.S. House of Representatives representing New Mexico’s 2nd Congressional District from 2003–2009 and 2011–2019, he engaged extensively on issues affecting Western communities, including energy production, mineral development and land management. His background reflects a practical understanding of how federal policy decisions impact local economies and infrastructure development.
