ALEXANDRIA, VA – Ric Suzio, vice president of Suzio York Hill Companies, testified this morning in a House Small Business Committee hearing on the Department of Labor’s burdensome regulations. The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) announced House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee Chairman Sam Graves (R-Mo.) and Ranking Member Rick Larsen (D-Wash.) as the 2026 ROCK Star Award winners during the association’s Legislative & Policy Forum (LPF).
“NSSGA is proud to recognize Chairman Graves and Ranking Member Larsen with the 2026 ROCK Star Award for their principled leadership and bipartisan commitment to advancing infrastructure policy,” said NSSGA President and CEO Michele Stanley. “Through their work on the BUILD America 250 Act, and the efforts of their staffs, they have continued to champion critical policies that help the aggregates industry work to supply the materials needed to build and maintain America’s roads, bridges and highways.”
The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association, National Asphalt Pavement Association and National Ready Mixed Concrete Association were on the Hill today for a joint fly-in. They had more than 340 meetings scheduled, including with the offices of Sens. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), Todd Young (R-Ind.) and Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) and Reps. Virginia Foxx (R-N.C.) and Erin Houchin (R-Indiana). They pushed senators to pass a surface transportation reauthorization bill and discussed streamlining approvals to get critical infrastructure projects moving.
INDUSTRY MOVES: The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association will hold its policy forum from Sunday to Wednesday.
Scheduled to attend the conference: Bureau of Land Management Director Steven Pearce; Sens. Alan Armstrong (R-Okla.) and Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-Miss.); and Reps. Nick Langworthy (R-N.Y.), Harriet Hageman (R-Wyo.) and T&I top Democrat Rick Larsen.
NSSGA and other construction industry trade groups will also fly some of their members to D.C. to push congressional offices to advance the surface reauthorization bill, also known as the highway bill.
