Coalition Letter Supporting WRDA 2022

The 33 national associations and construction trade unions of the Transportation Construction Coalition (TCC) applaud your work on the Water Resources Development Act of 2022 (WRDA 2022). This bipartisan legislation will authorize much needed investment for U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) projects, including ports, dredging, locks, levees, dams, and water supply projects and we support its passage and enactment.

Letter to Congressional Leadership Supporting WRDA 2022

On behalf of the over 400 members of the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA), I am writing to express our support for the Water Resources and Development Act of 2022. NSSGA would like to applaud Congress in their efforts to include the crucial WRDA language in this year’s National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA); as this piece of legislation will support efforts to improve and invest in all levels of our nation’s infrastructure network, including critical navigable waterways that are essential to America’s economic competitiveness.

NSSGA Applauds Senate WRDA Passage

ALEXANDRIA, VA – The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) Vice President of Government and Regulatory Affairs Michele Stanley issued the following statement after the Senate passed the 2022 Water Resources Development Act. The Committee announced a markup of the bill will be held on Wednesday, May 18.

Clean Water Act Rules Hurt Transportation Sector’s Ability To Fix Nation’s Roads & Bridges, Construction and Materials Groups Tell U.S. Supreme Court

(WASHINGTON) — Confusing rules promulgated by federal agencies under the Clean Water Act (CWA) are hurting the transportation construction sector’s ability to deliver infrastructure improvements that benefit all Americans, according to an amicus brief filed April 13 with the U.S. Supreme Court by the American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA) and National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA).

As your committee understands well, federal infrastructure investment at all levels is critical for our nation’s economic recovery and water infrastructure projects are no different, especially those vital projects covered by the Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) chief reports via the Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) reauthorizations. Robust federal investment in water infrastructure would put tens of thousands of Americans back to work and improve the daily lives of millions of Americans regarding navigable waterway projects, shoreline protection, flood mitigation and so much more.
