Letter to House Appropriations Committee and THUD Subcommittee on FY2024 Spending Bill

On behalf of the 450 members of the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA), we write to express our gratitude to the House Committee on Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies for their work to advance the Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 spending bill, which fully funds the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.

Transportation Construction Coalition Letter to Senate Appropriations Committee on FY 2024 Transportation Appropriations

Infrastructure investment spurs job creation and economic growth. To maximize this, the 34 organizations and labor unions of the Transportation Construction Coalition urge timely completion of Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 transportation appropriations at levels authorized in the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA). The second year of the IIJA is underway, and real-world improvements to safety, commute times, and freight movement are being seen nationwide.

TCC Support for Permitting Process Improvements in H.R. 1

The 33 national associations and construction trade unions of the Transportation Construction Coalition (TCC) applaud Congress for including improvements to the federal infrastructure permitting process as part of H.R. 1, the “Lower Energy Costs” Act.  TCC members are on the front line of rebuilding the nation’s infrastructure. To accomplish this, significant changes need to be made to the current project review and approval process. H.R. 1 accomplishes this goal.

NSSGA Member Testifies on IIJA Implementation at House T&I Hearing

ALEXANDRIA, VA National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) member Dwayne Boyd, president of the Midsouth Region, CRH Americas served as a witness during the “Reviewing the Implementation of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act” hearing, which was held by the House Transportation & Infrastructure (T&I) Highways and Transit Subcommittee. Boyd started out by thanking the Committee for their work in passing IIJA and emphasized the important advances that IIJA implementation provides for the aggregates industry.

Letter to House T&I Committee Ahead of “The State of Transportation Infrastructure and Supply Chain Challenges" Hearing

On behalf of the 400 members of the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA), I am writing to share the aggregates industry’s views, as the Committee holds its first hearing of the 118th Congress, entitled: “The State of Transportation Infrastructure and Supply Chain Challenges.” NSSGA is the voice of our nation’s aggregates industry, which operates over 9,000 operations and employs over 100,000 people in high-paying jobs to source 2.6 billion tons of aggregates each year that are used to sustain our modern way of life and build our nation’s communities and infrastructure.

Letter to FHWA Administrator Bhatt Regarding the "Policy on Using Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Resources to Build a Better America” Memorandum

Congratulations on your confirmation as Administrator of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). As you transition into this new role leading the agency, we respectfully request that you rescind the “Policy on Using Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Resources to Build a Better America” memorandum issued on December 16, 2021. We supported the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), because it represents the most significant infusion of investment in our infrastructure since the enactment of the Interstate Highway System in the mid-1950’s.

NSSGA Board Chair Karen Hubacz Discusses Inflation at House Transportation & Infrastructure Roundtable

ALEXANDRIA, VA – NSSGA Board Chair and President of Bond Construction Corp. Karen Hubacz spoke to the House Transportation and Infrastructure (T&I) Committee today about the impact of inflation on the aggregates industry. The House T&I Committee Republicans this morning held a roundtable discussion on the “Inflation Crisis Impacts on Infrastructure,” hosted by Ranking Member Sam Graves (MO).
