ALEXANDRIA, VA. – The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association's President and CEO Michele Stanley issued the below statement following the announcement that House Transportation & Infrastructure Chairman Sam Graves (MO) will retire at the end of his term.

“NSSGA would like to thank Chairman Sam Graves (MO) for his service and steadfast leadership of the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee. Throughout his 25 years in Congress, the Chairman has been a true aggregates industry champion and has a deep understanding of the importance of our industry to the national economy. Chairman Graves has always advocated for policies that that will bring long-term certainty to our industry, such as his work to fix the Highway Trust Fund. His institutional knowledge of infrastructure issues and bipartisan leadership experience will be greatly missed. As he finishes his time in Congress, NSSGA looks forward to working with him and his staff to complete the 2026 surface transportation reauthorization bill.”
