NSSGA Announces the 2026 Environmental Excellence Award Winners and Environmental Leadership Award Winner
WASHINGTON, D.C. — The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) today announced the winners of its Environmental Excellence Awards and Environmental Leadership Award. The Excellence Awards recognize operations that demonstrate a commitment to the exemplary use of environmental controls and systems.
“Congratulations to our Environmental Award winners for their outstanding environmental stewardship, while producing the aggregates materials our country needs to thrive,” said NSSGA President & CEO Michele Stanley. “Their efforts to protect the environment exemplify our industry’s commitment to sustainability.”
NSSGA celebrated 12 Gold, 39 Silver and 50 Bronze environmental award winners during the first general session of the 2026 Legislative & Policy Forum. Martin Marietta’s Sunol Aggregates was announced as the 2026 Environmental Platinum winner, as the top-scoring gold award recipient.
Additionally, Kevin Thomas of Davey Resource Group, Inc. was named the 2026 Environmental Leadership Award winner. Thomas has provided a great service to the aggregates industry through his knowledge of Waters of the U.S. (WOTUS) permitting and mitigation processes. His contributions have aided industry stakeholders and policymakers in understanding the impact of rulemaking on aggregates operations and the need for clear rules and regulations.
