WASHINGTON — The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) will kick off its annual Legislative & Policy Forum (LPF) today. Over the next four days, more than 340 attendees will meet with lawmakers and share the story of the aggregates industry.
This year’s event includes the NSSGA Awards of Excellence ceremonies and various committee meetings. It will also feature a Young Leaders networking event, the annual aggregates 5K Run on the National Mall, the ROCKPAC Chairman’s dinner and the Meet Your Representatives reception.
“NSSGA aims to advance policies that support the aggregates industry’s role in building America’s infrastructure,” said NSSGA Interim CEO Michele Stanley. “Through our strategic advocacy and collaboration with other associations, NSSGA is creating the foundation to achieve legislative success and build a stronger infrastructure network.”
Hill Day on Sept. 18, members of the National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA) and the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA) will join with NSSGA to advocate for our shared industry priorities. Participants will advocate for key policies, which include ensuring fair access to materials research; fixing a broken permitting system; promoting workforce development; and passing the next surface transportation reauthorization bill.
NSSGA’s ICON Award is being awarded to Roselyn Bar, Martin Marietta. Bar has been involved with NSSGA since its founding in 2000 and has served on the Legal and Steering Committees. Her expert guidance has aided NSSGA in making sound decisions on behalf of the industry on environmental and health & safety issues.
