Awarded by a panel of NSSGA member judges, the scholarship is given annually to a student pursuing a mining-related degree and plans to make a career in the aggregates industry.

The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA), for one, expressed its disappointment that the rule does not incorporate provisions of the recently adopted Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) safety standard.

“Though this final rule extended the compliance date to two years, we are greatly disappointed that our input during the comment period was disregarded, and this rule does not incorporate provisions of the recently adopted OSHA silica standard,” said National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association President and CEO Michael Johnson.
