Transportation Construction Coalition Letter on the Bipartisan American Affordability and Jobs Act of 2026

The 34 member organizations and labor unions of the Transportation Construction Coalition (TCC) write in support of S.5653, the Bipartisan American Affordability and Jobs Act of 2026 (BAAJA), which would streamline federal environmental review, permitting, and judicial review processes. The TCC believes Congress should accelerate project delivery by modernizing the federal review processes without cutting corners on safety or environmental quality. Prolonged reviews, permitting, and litigation delay construction projects, increasing costs and disrupting the workforce.

American Highway Users Alliance Letter to Senate EPW and ENR Committees on Bipartisan American Affordability and Jobs Act of 2026

The American Highway Users Alliance (the Highway Users) is pleased to express support for the recently announced Bipartisan American Affordability and Jobs Act of 2026 (BAAJA), S. 5653. The BAAJA takes important steps in modernizing and improving the permitting process for infrastructure and energy projects. Today’s permitting system is slow and unpredictable, leading to increased costs and needlessly delaying construction projects. This bill would bring greater certainty to the permitting process and speed up construction projects.

Construction Materials Industry Letter to Senate EPW and ENR Committees on the Bipartisan American Affordability and Jobs Act

On behalf of the American Cement Association, the National Asphalt Pavement Association, the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association and the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association, we write in strong support of the Bipartisan American Affordability and Jobs Act and urge the Senate to pass it. Our members produce cement, asphalt, ready mixed concrete and crushed stone, sand and gravel, the construction materials used to build and maintain America’s roads, bridges, housing, water systems and energy infrastructure.

Letter to Senate EPW Committee Supporting the Bipartisan American Affordability and Jobs Act

On behalf of the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) and our nearly 500 member companies, I write in strong support of the Bipartisan American Affordability and Jobs Act and urge the Senate to pass it promptly. NSSGA represents the producers of crushed stone, sand and gravel – the materials that form the foundation of America’s roads, bridges, housing, water systems and energy infrastructure. Our members produce more than 90 percent of the crushed stone and 70 percent of the sand and gravel used in the United States and employ more than 100,000 workers.

Coalition Letter to Senate Leadership Urging the Confirmation of Keith Sonderling to Serve as Secretary of Labor

The 51 undersigned organizations urge the swift confirmation of Keith Sonderling to serve as Secretary of Labor. Acting Secretary Sonderling is well-qualified and has extensive experience in workplace and public service. He has a proven record of success managing the Department of Labor, which he has been doing since April, and, if confirmed, he will continue to steer the Department of Labor toward policies that protect workers, provide clear guidance to the employer community, and reduce the regulatory burden on the economy, allowing it to thrive.

Letter to Senate Leadership on the Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2027

On behalf of the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) and our nearly 500 member companies, we urge the Senate to promptly pass the Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2027. The extension of surface transportation authorizations included within this measure would sustain critical infrastructure investments and keep construction projects moving by continuing current authorization levels through December 11, 2026. NSSGA members produce the crushed stone, sand and gravel that form the literal foundation of America’s roads, bridges, airports and public works.

Coalition Letter to Congressional Leadership Urging Preservation of FY2026 Surface Transportation Funding in CR

The federal government’s investment in our nation’s transportation network provides immense value to the American public. Accordingly, we urge you to preserve the FY 2026 funding levels enacted for all federal transportation programs, including those funded through the Highway Trust Fund and advance appropriations, as part of any short-term government funding measure or surface transportation program extension.

Coalition Letter to Senate Leadership on the Confirmation of James Macy and David Prouty to the National Labor Relations Board

The Coalition for a Democratic Workplace and the 26 undersigned organizations write to urge the quick confirmation of James Macy and David Prouty, President Trump’s nominees to serve on the National Labor Relations Board. If the Senate fails to confirm the President's nominees, the Board will lose its quorum on August 27, 2026. This will leave employers and workers in legal limbo as the agency loses its capacity to issue decisions and compound the already historic backlog of cases. It is therefore vital that the nominees come to the floor for a vote as soon as possible.

Construction Materials Industry Letter to Senate EPW Committee on WRDA 2026

The American Cement Association, the National Asphalt Pavement Association, the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association, and the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association thank the Committee for introducing and passing the Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) of 2026 by unanimous consent. We urge the U.S. Senate to pass WRDA swiftly to advance critical water infrastructure projects across the country. The construction materials produced by our combined membership are foundational to a range of different Corps projects, from locks and dams to flood control and storm risk reduction.
