Construction Materials Industry Letter to Senate EPW and ENR Committees on the Bipartisan American Affordability and Jobs Act
On behalf of the American Cement Association, the National Asphalt Pavement Association, the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association and the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association, we write in strong support of the Bipartisan American Affordability and Jobs Act and urge the Senate to pass it. Our members produce cement, asphalt, ready mixed concrete and crushed stone, sand and gravel, the construction materials used to build and maintain America’s roads, bridges, housing, water systems and energy infrastructure. Those projects depend on a reliable local supply of construction materials. Lengthy, duplicative and legally uncertain permitting too often delays that supply and raises costs for the communities waiting on the work.
