Transportation Construction Coalition Letter to Treasury Secretary on Guidance on Executive Order “Emergency Tax Relief on Diesel Fuel”
The 34 member organizations and labor unions of the Transportation Construction Coalition (TCC) appreciate the administration’s attention to high diesel costs and their impact on businesses and working families. As you know, the federal user fee of 24.4 cents per gallon on diesel fuel remains a key source of revenue for the Highway Trust Fund (HTF). Therefore, the guidance developed by Treasury to implement the October 5 executive order, “Emergency Tax Relief on Diesel Fuel,” could greatly impact the HTF and stability of the federal surface transportation investment it provides.
