Sponsoring a Student Chapter

Company sponsors give students real world exposure to the aggregates industry. NSSGA Student Chapters are required to have a sponsoring NSSGA member company, which could be you! By sponsoring a student chapter, you could form a bond with university students interested in the aggregates industry and encouraging the next generation of highly-skilled workers. Sponsors support chapters in many ways, including:

  • Hosting plant and quarry field trips
  • Providing guest speakers to talk about different positions within the aggregates industry and expand students’ knowledge of the processing of construction aggregates
  • Donating unused equipment
  • Supporting chapter activities financially
  • Discussing careers in the aggregates industry at the school’s career fair

Why should your company sponsor a student chapter?

Sponsoring a student chapter allows your company to introduce itself to this student body and promote development in people, training and research. Your relationship with the school can encourage students in the chapter to become familiar with the unique challenges and opportunities presented by a career in the aggregates industry. In turn, you will create a pipeline of well-qualified young workers to help fulfill your workforce needs in the coming years.

How does your company sponsor a student chapter?

Student chapters are required to submit a letter from a sponsoring company as part of their chapter application. When requested by that prospective chapter’s faculty advisor, please provide a letter indicating your willingness to sponsor the chapter. Consider including several examples of how you plan to support the chapter (guest speakers, field trips, etc.).

Please contact NSSGA at meetings@nssga.org if you are interested in participating as a company sponsor.
