Letter to USTR on the Suspension of Action in Section 301 Investigation of China's Targeting of the Maritime, Logistics and Shipbuilding Sectors of Dominance
The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) appreciates the opportunity to comment on the United States Trade Representative’s request to suspend the action in the Section 301 investigation of China’s Targeting of the Maritime, Logistics, and Shipbuilding Sectors for Dominance. NSSGA is submitting standalone comments to USTR’s proposed modifications to this action initially published in the Federal Register on October 10, 2025, that would directly impact Laker vessels and the aggregates industry. NSSGA supports suspending the Section 301 action and its corresponding fees for one year. As in our March 24, 2025, comments submitted to the USTR-2025-0002 Docket on Section 301 Investigation of China’s Targeting of the Maritime, Logistics and Shipbuilding Sectors, we urged “USTR not to seek implementation of its proposed actions and postpone any final action until consultation with industry stakeholders on alternate solutions that will not disrupt the US economy are identified.” We urge the USTR to engage with industry stakeholders during the proposed one-year suspension period.
