Influential regulators from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Department of Transportation (DOT) recently shared updates on the issues that impact the aggregates industry with NSSGA members at the 2018 Legislative Policy & Forum. Andrew Wheeler, the EPA’s acting administrator, shared updates on the priorities of the agency, including next steps for the 2015 Waters of the U.S. (WOTUS) rule. Also, Steven Bradbury, general counsel at the U.S. DOT, gave NSSGA members insight into the Trump administration, the future of transportation in our country and where things stand on infrastructure investment. Members of Congress also joined stone, sand and gravel producers during the event and shared their thoughts on workforce development, natural resource management and key infrastructure policy issues.
