NSSGA members have until midnight tomorrow, June 22, to apply for the Safety Excellence Awards, Environmental Excellence Awards, Environmental Leadership Awards and the James M. Christie Award of Safety and Health Award.
These awards will be presented with members of Congress and regulators in attendance at NSSGA’s Legislative & Policy Forum in Washington, D.C., from Sept. 24-28. Recipients of previous safety and environmental awards have said that the recognition helps to promote their achievements internally and to customers, neighbors and community influencers.
“I was honored to receive recognition from my peers when I won the James M. Christie Safety and Health Professional of the Year Award,” says Cheryl Suzio, York Hill Trap Rock Quarry’s vice president of safety and health. “I encourage all safety and health professionals, as well as managers, CEO’s, etc., to nominate worthy individuals for a chance to showcase others’ achievements and leadership with this award.”
Each year, NSSGA presents the Safety Excellence award to facilities that have gone the longest period without a reportable injury, and the Environmental Excellence awards to honor operations for innovative sustainable practices. The association also recognizes thought-provoking environmental and safety leaders with the Environmental Leadership Award and the James M. Christie Safety and Health Professional of the Year Award.
NSSGA’s annual Awards of Excellence recognize companies, quarries and professionals that show extraordinary dedication and commitment to the industry while continually improving safety and sustainable practices across the country.
