NSSGA Urges Senate to Act on America’s Transportation Infrastructure Act

ALEXANDRIA, VA – The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association’s Vice President of Government and Regulatory Affairs Michele Stanley issued the below statement commending Chairman Barrasso (Wyo.) who spoke out earlier today on the need for Congress to work together on a solution for federal highway funding.

“The clock is ticking on essential infrastructure legislation such as the authorization for federal highway funding. I applaud Chairman Barrasso (Wyo.) who spoke on this critical need for action by the Senate to pass America’s Transportation Infrastructure Act by September 30.

“It is imperative that Congress take action on a sustained solution that will allow much-needed projects to continue in the states.  Whether it is a multi-year bill or at least a one-year extension, we all know investment in infrastructure is an investment in our country’s long-term economic health. NSSGA will continue to work with policymakers on this issue as we do not want September 30 to arrive without a real solution.”
