Study shows quarries have no effect on housing prices
A new policy paper found no compelling statistical evidence that either the anticipation or the ongoing operation of quarries negatively impacts home prices.
The Phoenix Center for Advanced Legal & Economic Public Policy Studies report, Quarry Operations and Property Values: Revisiting Old and Investigating New Empirical Evidence, was released today, March 5, 2018. “Our search for evidence that quarries reduce home prices in thousands of transactions turns up empty. Only one earlier study finds such a link, but a close look at that study indicates it was poorly designed, used unreliable statistical methods, and the findings cannot be replicated,” said study co-author Phoenix Center Chief Economist Dr. George S. Ford.

Infrastructure for America
NSSGA unveiled a new website yesterday, www.infrastructureforamerica.org, that helps people communicate directly with their representatives on Capitol Hill and advocate for a long-term, sustainably-funded infrastructure bill. Visit the site today and let your members of Congress know about the value of investing in infrastructure.
