H.R. 2157, passed with broad support in the House and Senate.
On Monday, June 3, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R.2157– Additional Supplemental Appropriations for Disaster Relief Act, 2019, which includes funding for communities hit hard by fires, tornadoes, hurricanes, floods and earthquakes over the last three years.
The final tally in the House stood at 354-58 and the U.S. Senate passed the measure 85-8 in late May. CNN reported that the “President had previously said that he supports the legislation, which will bring much-needed relief to Americans affected by hurricanes, floods, wildfires and other disasters.”
H.R. 2157 has been sent to the president’s desk for signature, who has been supportive of the bill on social media.
