NSSGA, NAPA and AEM leaders call for serious and sustainable infrastructure bill
An opinion piece featuring Michael W. Johnson, NSSGA president and CEO, appeared in The Hill, a newspaper covering politics based in Washington, D.C. It touted the benefits of much needed federal infrastructure investment and highlights polls that show broad support from Americans for President Trump and Congress to craft a long-term and bipartisan infrastructure package.
“Every additional dollar invested in infrastructure delivers roughly $3.70 in additional economic growth,” wrote Johnson and co-authors Dennis Slater, AEM president, and Audrey Copeland, NAPA president and CEO. “Clearly, investment is sound, fiscally responsible economic policy that ensures commuters will see their wages increase by an average of $1,400, and no longer be subject to 42 hours of wasted travel time every year.”
