NSSGA needs you to send comments to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to support the repeal of the controversial 2015 Waters of the U.S. (WOTUS) Rule. As written, the rule would have;
- Allowed the federal government to regulate dry streambeds and isolated wetlands.
- Negatively impacted the permitting process for aggregates operations.
- Increased the cost of vital public works projects with little to no environmental benefit.
- Been a jurisdictional overreach.
The EPA is seeking input from the public on the proposed withdrawal by Sept. 27. NSSGA is preparing comments and encourages aggregates operations to tell the agency what should be included in the new rule – and how harmful the 2015 rule would have been to your team.
