Bipartisan Water Infrastructure Bill Passes House

NSSGA welcomed the passage of the U.S. House of Representatives passage of the Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) by a bipartisan vote of 408-2 on June 6, 2018. This critical legislation invests $2.7 billion dollars in America’s ports, dams, locks and other key water infrastructure projects. Passage of this bill is a necessary step in multimodal infrastructure investment in the United States, and NSSGA will continue to advocate for funding that improves the way that people and commerce move around the country.

“We certainly thank Congress for coming together to support our water infrastructure, which is essential to our country’s commerce, safety and health. We look forward to the Senate also passing their WRDA legislation and sending it to President Trump’s desk,” said Laura O’Neill Kaumo, NSSGA senior vice president of government and regulations.

NSSGA continues to urge the Senate to pass their WRDA legislation this summer to ensure that our nation’s waterways have consistent and continual investment.
