“As an industry, we work with the federal government to promote policies that make our industry stronger, protect our environment and keep our workers safe,” Griesemer said. “However, some regulations are redundant, excessive or unnecessary.” Members of the committee have recognized that small businesses like Springfield Underground spend a significant amount of time and money to obtain all the correct, and sometimes overlapping, permits needed for their operations.
