Soaring Zip Line Adventure – The Woods Course (Beginner Level)

Tuesday, June 13, 2017
1:30-4:30 p.m.
Meet at 12:45 p.m. at the West Building’s Porte Cochere

The Broadmoor Soaring Adventure is a new addition to the reopening of Seven Falls, an area of 181 feet of falling water that makes up seven magnificent waterfalls. While zip lining may look and sound scary, this course is super safe, easy to master – and the views are exhilarating! At this end of the zip lining, this experience allows NSSGA participants to explore the beautiful Seven Falls area with a walk down a series of steps to the base of the Falls. You will not regret doing this!

The Broadmoor’s “Woods Course” is considered the Beginner Level, but there is plenty of adventure and grand terrain to see for anyone! Guides will outfit our you with a harness around your seat and helmet, then take you through a brief lesson on braking and other zip line techniques before you actually enter the course itself.

The first two zips are considered “warm up” lines ranging from 250 to 310 feet long – again, no worries, these are easy! As you move through the zip line course, you began to get a feel for the zipping techniques as you see the trees go rushing past and you start to relax and rely on the safety equipment. After the second zip is completed, there is a short walk to the third line where the terrain opens up into a perfect setting looking up and down the canyon below. Standing on top of the granite rock formation, you can’t help but revel in the gorgeous scenery before taking your first airy 467-foot ride over the creek below. As you slow down for the landing, you will notice a natural arch to your left just before touching down.

The guides will lead our group across the canyon, again touching down above Midnight Falls amongst the standing rock formations. There is a birds’ eye view of the area behind the falls, and you will stand on one of the highest points in the Seven Falls area. Then, there is no way around it….you must zip 1,500 feet above the hiking trails below to the final platform!

Once you leave the final zip line platform, there is a beautiful hike down stairs leading to the base of the waterfalls. These stairs parallel the waterfalls starting at the top and place you next to the magnificent series of waterfalls located in the 1,250-foot-wall box canyon. Words cannot do the scenery justice…it is truly something you have to experience.
