Overview

Managing the work of others and accepting responsibility for the work of a group within a company requires supervisory skills that come from a combination of basic management principles and the knowledge gained through experience. The NSSGA Basic Supervisory Training Program, a partnership with Weir International Mining Consultants, provides new managers with these basic management principles from an aggregates industry perspective.

The program helps aggregate plant managers, plant supervisors and management personnel build the skills necessary to excel as supervisors. Expert trainers with years of mining experience cover responsibilities in health and safety, communications, community relations, process change, loss control and performance measurement, and offer training in time and stress management. Many companies have made the program part of their corporate training strategy. If you want to ensure that your plant managers and supervisors gain the basic supervisory skills they need to excel, then this program is for you.
