    NSSGA convention registrations and hotel reservations are pouring in for the NSSGA 2008 Convention in Las Vegas. If you have not yet registered, now is the time! There is an impending housing deadline of TUESDAY, JAN. 15, at 5 p.m. CST for the NSSGA room block at the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel, the NSSGA headquarters hotel next to the convention center. To get in the NSSGA room block, you must be registered for both the NSSGA 2008 Convention and CONEXPO-CON/AGG. See the Housing section for more details. Do not wait until the last day to register!

    Registrations continue for the NSSGA Annual Convention and CONEXPO-CON/AGG. At this early stage we estimate that roughly 5% of the total registrants and their spouses have completed their registrations. Room availability is still strong but a second printed brochure will be mailed in the next two weeks and that will see an uptick in the number of registrations.

    Feedback on the registration process has been positive for the most part. A post-registration survey has been developed with a few questions that will help us best deliver an effective registration experience. Please be sure to visit the survey after you've registered.

    We've now had the web site registration links up and running for a week. As of this morning we've had over a dozen folks register for one or more events and we've gotten no feedback on the survey. We'll conclude therefore that we identified all the bugs in our alpha testing, and this round of beta testing showed no new problems. We'll announce the official launch of the registration site next week. That doesn't mean we can guarantee that you won't experience any problems during the registration process, but it will more than likely be because of a unique situation you have. We'd still appreciate your feedback on the survey after you've registered, or feel free to contact us with any questions or problems. We're looking forward to seeing you in Las Vegas.

    The 2008 NSSGA Convention & CONEXPO-CON/AGG web site has been opened. Feel free to register for the NSSGA convention and CONEXPO-CON/AGG, and please let us know about your experience.

    If you had any problems registering please contact our webmaster, Chris Richards at 703 526-1080 and let him know what problems you encountered.

    As an alternative, after you've registered, please visit our post-registration survey link and take a quick survey about your experience using the web site for registering for any or all of the events offered during the NSSGA convention and CONEXPO-CON/AGG events.

    Your feedback will help us refine the web site and provide a more efficient and effective registration process for other members.

    We'll officially launch the web site after we've worked out any bugs you may have experienced. Thanks for your help.

    At the close of business the folks at Experient are working to get the registration process finalized. Issues like confirmations mailed out to registrants, identifying NSSGA members as they begin the registration process, and transferring data from their database to our database have all proven to be bigger challenges than we hoped they'd be. However a revised test site will be up and running for us to review on Wednesday and we'll keep you updated as to the results.

    2008 Annual Convention - Going Live!!

    The NSSGA registration convention and housing registration Web site will be going live the week of August 28. Final updates are being made to the Web sites at the time of this draft.

    With the Web sites going live you'll have three options for registration:

    1. Register for the NSSGA convention and CONEXPO-CON/AGG Show.
    2. Register for the NSSGA Convention alone.
    3. Register for the CONEXPO-CON/AGG Show alone.

    You'll also be able to register for housing online at the Las Vegas Hilton, the NSSGA headquarters hotel. In order to reserve your room at the Las Vegas Hilton, you'll first need to register for the NSSGA convention. Please note: If you are planning to stay at a hotel other than the Las Vegas Hilton, you'll have to make arrangements directly with that alternative hotel.

    This year we've added rooms to the hotel room block at the Las Vegas Hilton so members should have no problem reserving a guest room.

    Be sure to attend the NSSGA annual convention from March 10 to March 13, and then visit the country's largest trade show at the nearby Las Vegas Convention Center from March 11-15.

    Because of the complicated nature of combining the NSSGA convention registration, CONEXPO-CON/AGG registration and reservations for the Las Vegas Hilton, changes were being made to the registration sites to better serve NSSGA members. These changes will delay the release of the Web sites until the revisions are made.
